Hi friends!
I'm always excited when I get to introduce you to a new company... and this week, it's Mudflap! (I literally published their profile a few hours ago, so it's hot off the internet presses. 🔥🖨️)
After Sanjay and Sharon worked together at Trucker Path, they realized that independent owner-operators and small fuel stops were largely being left out of certain benefits. Truckers, who we all rely on to transport goods (did anyone else wait 8+ months to get their couch delivered during the pandemic?), are a community underserved by technology, so they decided to step in.
They actually serve a two-sided marketplace. They help (1) truckers/drivers (to save an average of 40 cents per gallon when they fuel up), and (2) smaller fuel stations (to boost their visibility to attract more customers and increase sales).
What's really impressive and inspiring to me is that they launched their product in January of 2020 (isn't it funny thinking back to how little we knew then about what that year would bring?) and currently being used by 25% of truckers across the United States and processing $2 billion in annual payments. And with $75M of funding under their belt, we can all appreciate this rocket ship growth. 🚀
While they're focusing on expanding their reach to the millions of truck drivers in the U.S., they also plan to evolve into a platform that does more than just sell gas. They want the trucking industry to have an e-commerce platform that includes services such as repairs, maintenance, and insurance, and to also stay well-positioned to serve the rise of electric vehicles. (As a Tesla driver, this felt important to mention!)
I know that the state of hiring isn't what it looked like this time last year (and that people are generally more wary about changing jobs at the moment), but for those of you who are looking, here's my insider info: Mudflap is about to hire aggressively. So run. Don't walk!
More bite-sized treats below! 🍬

Mudflap (profile) 📍 Palo Alto, CA or Remote (US)
Does not provide relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations on a case-by-case basis.
Mudflap is a mobile app that provides drivers of diesel-fueled vehicles with instant fuel discounts, while also helping mom-and-pop truck stops grow their customer base. As a team of ~50 employees, every person who joins (regardless of level) is a project owner and has directly helped expand Mudflap's user base from 0 to 1,000+ truck stops since 2020. They plan to double their team in the next 12 months, too, so if you're at all interested, [*honks horn*] get on board! 🚚

Nova Credit (profile) 📍 Remote (US)
Provides relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations.
Nova Credit helps immigrants share their credit history from their home countries, so they can access mortgages, credit cards, and most recently, electric vehicles. In order to serve their diverse customer base, they prioritize inclusion within the company by investing in internal committees. Everything from how they've structured interviews and compensation to paid family leave benefits speaks to that.

WorkOS (profile) 📍 Remote (Americas and European time zones)
No need to relocate folks –– they're remote! Does not sponsor work authorizations.
WorkOS provides APIs to make apps enterprise-ready, with pre-built features and integrations such as single sign-on (SSO) and audit logs. Their greatest advantage over incumbents is how nimble they are as a small team. They keep their quality bar high, sweat the small stuff, and have assembled a great team of former founders, execs, and open source contributors. You'll always have someone to learn from.

As someone who does not enjoy being scared, I hope y'all have a wonderful, safe, and spooky-only-if-you're-into-spooky Halloween weekend, no matter how you spend it! Halloween used to be my favorite holiday, but over the years I don't know what's happened... 😂 While I did get Illumi a costume (she'll be a turtle!), we don't have a single pumpkin or any spirited decorations outside, and I'm still deciding if I should be completely ashamed or confidently secure about that choice. (Like what kind of adult am I trying to be?!)
Growing up is weird!
🎃✌️,
Lynne (@lynnetye and @keyvaluesio)
