Hi friends!

I am writing to you from Austria after a very long day of traveling. 👋 My husband had a work trip in Poland and my parents expressed interest in traveling to more European cities they hadn't been to yet, which kind of just made me say, "Wait... I wanna come, too!" Plus, things certainly won't get easier traveling with two kids, so I'm trying to make the most of it now while I can. 😏

Since starting this newsletter, I've managed to write y'all from all over the world: Tanzania, South Africa, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Belarus, New Zealand... and it makes me so grateful for remote work. Before COVID-19, it was such a rarity to be able to work from anywhere, but the fact that it's become so normal doesn't take away from the gift it is! If anything, it makes me even more appreciative of what it affords us, whether we just want our time back from commuting to spend with family and friends, or the freedom to travel the world while also building our careers.

There are many flavors of remote work, but I'm still always impressed by companies that have team members who live on sailboats or are 100% nomadic. While I'm someone who loves laying down roots, having a routine, and yes, sometimes misses office life, having the option to live any way (and anywhere) you want is a beautiful thing. Which brings me to...

... introducing y'all to the newest team to join the Key Values family: CareMessage! They're the largest patient engagement platform for underserved populations in the United States and power the care for over 10 million people. They're a nonprofit that embraces remote work (for real real!), and yeah, I'm really excited for y'all to learn more about them. Legggooo!

CareMessage (profile) 📍 Remote (Global – requires overlap with EST)
Does not provide relocation support. Does not sponsor work authorizations.
CareMessage is a patient engagement platform that helps underserved populations access timely healthcare information. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they are 70% self-supported and also have large institutional investors such as and Johnson & Johnson so they can focus on putting their customers' needs first. Internally, they embrace work from home (or a WiFi-enabled RV) and offer competitive and equal pay regardless of your location. #remotelife! 🌎

PointCard (profile) 📍 San Francisco, New York City, or Los Angeles
Does not provide relocation support. Does not sponsor work authorizations.
Point creates modern, transparent, and rewarding spending products. In transforming charge cards, design is one of their biggest differentiators, which means engineers work closely with designers. They announced their $46.5M Series B earlier this month, which means launching new features, building new products, and you guessed it –– hiring more people. Read more about their team here

Zapier (profile) 📍 Remote (US)
No need to relocate folks –– they're remote! Does not sponsor work authorizations.
Zapier makes it easy to automate workflows across 5000+ app integrations, no code needed. They’ve been remote since 2011, which is why “defaulting to transparency” is one of their core values. Maggie, their Director of Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, & Equity was recently recognized for her work refining the company DIBE strategy and helping Zapier secure a $1.3M donation for Ukrainian humanitarian aid beneficiaries.

Color (profile) 📍 Remote (US)
Provides relocation support. Sponsors work authorizations.
Color provides the tech and infrastructure to power large-scale health initiatives like genomics programs and COVID-19 testing. More recently, they’re helping close the gap between public and private healthcare delivery of COVID-19 antiviral treatment. They offer great benefits (like 18 weeks paid parental leave, regardless of gender) and are also super transparent about their interview process. 👏

Brex (profile) 📍 Remote (US, Canada, Israel, Brazil)
Provides relocation between Canada and the U.S. Sponsors work authorizations.
Brex is building a unified financial experience so that businesses' software and services can be in one place. They rank Committed to Personal Growth as their #1 value and believe there is no “right” way to define your career at Brex. Thomas Fischer open-sourced his career growth template and Annie Shin shares how she transitioned from senior software engineer to eng manager in her first 11 months.

Modern Treasury (profile) 📍 San Francisco, New York, or Remote (US)
Provides relocation support on a case-by-case basis. Sponsors work authorizations.
Modern Treasury enables businesses to move and track money at scale. You've heard me gush about them before, and I'm gonna do it again. Not only are their team members super down-to-earth, but they also continue to do an impressive amount with a relatively small team, like recently partnering with Goldman Sachs Transaction Banking to offer embedded payments for other businesses. 💸

Sleepily smiling while jet lagged,
