More What's Happening
May 2021
DIrector's Corner:
I try not to flood your inbox with a lot of emails. However, there is so much happening in May, including a couple of things that I just heard about; I just had to send a second email this month. We are happy to host the NPWA book giveaway next week on Tuesday, 5/18. It's an in-service day at North Penn schools, so kids won't have to miss school to visit the library and pick up their books.  Also, the Franklin Institute has given us Exclusive Virtual Access to a members-only movie until the end of May. I figured this email was a good opportunity to provide more details about some of the online resources we've added this year. Finally, I'm able to share the details of how we will allow you to spend more time in the library.

North Penn Water Authority Children's Book Giveaway
The NPWA is excited to release their first children's book, "The Source to Tap Mystery." In this interactive coloring book, children can take an adventure with "H2Ollie" and his

friends to solve the mystery of where water comes from! NPWA will be on-site at the Lansdale Library to make books available to area children on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 10:30 am-11:30 am. For more information on the book or event, please visit, or contact Lindsay Hughes, Community Relations Coordinator, at 215-855-3617 or

Exclusive Movie Access

The Last Reef: Cities Beneath the Sea (40 min)

Fly across iridescent tropical reefs, brush through a cloud of a million jellyfish, visit an alien world where the closer you look, the more you see.

In the past, we have offered traveling science shows from The Franklin Institute. Since they are not offering traveling shows right now, they've given us Exclusive Virtual Access through Monday, May 31 to their Member Movie Night. Watch the movie and try out the fun family activities using the instructions provided here.
