Our hearts overflow with gratitude for the generous love so many have shown -- and continue to show -- for Baltimore Clayworks. This month we celebrated together at a joy-filled Community Thank You Party (photos here), hosted "Empty Bowls for Puerto Rico," and initiated the "Fund for the Future of Clayworks" challenge campaign with a $150,000 matching grant from a most generous supporter.
Already dozens of donors have stepped forward to help us secure the future. Ceramic Arts Network featured Baltimore Clayworks and generated donations from all parts of the country. Every day students and neighbors stop in at the Holiday Sale to make contributions.
And today we are most grateful to announce a grant of $35,000 by The George E. Babylon Jr. and Ruth J. Babylon Charitable Foundation of Baltimore.
This is a major milestone, as it conveys that the civic foundation community and leadership have growing confidence that Baltimore Clayworks, Inc. is on its way to recovery, that our mission remains vital, and that our programs and people are well-suited to pursue it in the year ahead.
We thank you, the Baltimore Clayworks community, for the strength and dedication that made this recovery possible. Just as you have for most of our 37 years, the people who come together here -- donors, students, teachers, parents and kids, neighbors, staff, trustees, visitors -- understand the gifts of clay and community, and have dedicated yourselves to keeping Clayworks alive and well.
