"Surface Circus" & "Night Visions"
Spring Exhibition Reception
Dear Baltimore Clayworks community,
We're sad to announce that due to inclement weather, we will be postponing tonight's Spring exhibition reception and rescheduling it for Saturday, March 19th 6 - 8 PM. This was a very difficult decision for our staff to make, but one that is informed by ensuring safety and comfort for all attendees.
Please help us spread the word by letting your family, friends, and colleagues know in the case they were planning to attend tonight's festivities.
We hope you will join us next week for a sunnier celebration! 🥂
Stay safe and warm,
The BCW Team

Main Gallery
Clay has many potential surface possibilities and our group exhibition, “Surface Circus” juried by Sue Tirrell, will showcase a smorgasbord of ideas from traditional glazes, low to high-fire temperatures, wood-fire atmospheric, and even paint. Artists use the method they need to achieve their vision and function for each object, while colors ranging from bright and whimsical hues to more contemplative earth tones illuminate the boldness and skill of contemporary ceramic art.

Solo Gallery
Nationally recognized Baltimore artist Richard Cleaver celebrates 50 years of creating ceramic sculpture with an exhibition in the Solo Gallery. “My sculptures integrate ceramic, which is the primary medium, with wood, fresh water pearls, semi-precious stones, gold leaf, and oil paint,” Cleaver explained. “They are made complete with secret compartments which serve as hiding places for multiple, and often times personal meanings. My recent work is based on narratives drawn from personal and historical events that are overlapped with subconscious images". - Richard Cleaver
