Abolition Writes:
HBB Pen-Pal Program Summer Updates

Dear Humanities Behind Bars members and supporters,

Thank you to everyone who came to our first letter-writing session at the Muse! We had a great turnout and wrote to over 25 people in our network here in Virginia and beyond! We are excited to continue building community solidarity and support through our Pen-Pal Program. Want to know more about how and why we cultivate inside/outside alliances as part of HBB's vision? Check out our collectively written guidelines.
This summer, we will continue to meet the second Friday of every month at The Muse Writers Center (2200 Colonial Ave #3, Norfolk, VA 23517) from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Our next meeting is Friday, June 8th, so mark your calendars now! If anyone needs to coordinate a ride, please reach out to Student Justice Coordinator, Danielle Goldstein. Don't miss this opportunity to build solidarity with incarcerated writers! Everyone is welcome.

Toward abolition,

Alison Reed, Program Director & Co-Founder
Casey Guditus, HBB Treasurer

Danielle Goldstein, Student Justice Coordinator
Meghan Morris, Graduate Research Assistant
