Speaking Truth to Power:
Join Us for a Screening of 13TH at ODU!

Dear Humanities Behind Bars members and supporters,

As a reminder, tomorrow (Wednesday the 7th) is our next screening of 13TH, sponsored by ODU's Office of Intercultural Relations as part of their 2018 Black History Month Events & Celebration: Speaking Truth to Power! The event will be held on campus in the ODU Library Learning Commons on the first floor (Rooms 1310 - 1311) from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. More specifically, from 6:00 - 6:30 PM, Student Justice Coordinator Danielle Goldstein will lead an information session on the newly formed Humanities Behind Bars Student Club at ODU and how to get involved with local social justice initiatives. Pizza and refreshments will be provided by the Office of Intercultural Relations. Then, we will watch the documentary at 6:30 PM and facilitate a discussion after the film.

We have also been busy behind the scenes after a recent jail training and new volunteer orientation, so please stay tuned for future programming! We are excited to continue building the momentum toward abolition together.

Love and abolition,

Alison Reed, Program Co-Director & Co-Founder
Casey Guditus, HBB Treasurer

Danielle Goldstein, Student Justice Coordinator
Meghan Morris, Graduate Research Assistant
