2020 has been a thoroughly strange year. It's hard to believe everything that has happened so far, and yet we know that we serve a sovereign and good God, and this can bring us peace of mind amid so much uncertainty. With all that being said, life at the parish has not come to a halt; instead, we are moving forward with many exciting things happening.
First and foremost - I want to take a moment and say thank you to everyone for your continued faithfulness over the last few months. I know this season has been hard and stressful for many. It has been encouraging to see that we are reasonably close to meeting our budget despite not meeting for two months.
Ben told me last night that he accidentally sent out statements that included people's pledges and where they are at in the year. If you received this information, he was simply trying to figure out something in the system. However, it does show a neat feature in Realm, which will allow you to check how much you've given this year and print out your statement at the end of the year if you'd like it quicker.
Physical Plant projects
As you all know, we are remodeling the parish hall. We have started the kitchen remodel, and soon the countertops will be replaced. These costs have been covered. Thank you to those of you who have helped out with this and donated for this part of the project.
Once we replace the countertops, we will be painting, the ladies guild has generously offered to buy the paint for this, and there are already several volunteers lined up to paint, but if you would like to help, please let me know, and I will get you in touch with the right people.
Finally, we will be replacing the flooring in the parish hall and kitchen. The carpet we chose is easy to clean and should last for years to come. The cost for this will be approximately $4000. If you would like to donate to help cover these costs or other building improvements - you can let Don Foster know or simply place a second check in the offering plate with a note for the building fund in the notes line.
Lastly, we are working on getting bids to create a more functional walkway and patio. This will increase the area we can use for fellowship and other fellowship opportunities throughout the year. It should help beautify our parish and provide some wonderful opportunities throughout the week.
Ministry and Outreach Projects
This coming summer, I'm going to take some time and work with the vestry to establish a vision and plan for the future. This project will help us keep our focus and work hard for the glory of God in Prescott.
A part of this is that there are currently three really exciting new ministries that will be rolling out in the fall. Once plans are in place for each of these, we will be announcing them. I think in late August, early September, we'll take a Sunday to advertise these, and prayerfully consider what the Lord will be doing in the coming years at All Saints.
Lastly, do you like to use Amazon? We recently got an amazon smile account. Visit https://smile.amazon.com/ and then click the "Supporting" button near the top of the page, and then search for All Saints Prescott. A small portion of your purchase will go to help support our ministry here at All Saints.
Thank you all for your prayers, may God be glorified in all we do.
