Next School Advisory Council Meeting is December 13

The School Advisory Council (SAC) meets every other month to advise the school leadership and build an active community of engaged families. All are welcome and valued voices, including students, teachers, and staff. The meeting will be Tuesday, December 13th from 6-7pm via Zoom. Please register here and include any questions or topics you'd like to have discussed at the meeting.

SAC DEI Committee Wants to Hear From YOU!
Members of the SAC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee are hosting informal coffee chats to hear from members of our school community on issues relevant to DEI. What makes Adaire a welcoming place? How could we improve? We want to hear from all families, especially families of color, LGBTQ+ families, and other groups that experience systems of oppression. All feedback will be kept in confidence. Reach out to chair Jonny Rashid at
AdaireSAC.DEI@gmail.com for more info. Also, the DEI Committee meets every other Friday at 9am if you'd like to get involved.

SAC Facilities Committee - FIRST MEETING December 8th
The newest SAC committee on the block is the Facilities Committee. We'll meet weekday mornings because we are glad to count Building Engineer Mr. Rob Williams among our members. First meeting is Thursday, December 8th from 9:30-10:30am. If you'd like to get involved (this meeting or future meetings) reach out to
AdaireSchoolAdvisoryCouncil@gmail.com

Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story

As we mark the end of Native American Heritage Month, keep the conversation going with this award-winning collection of poems that reminds all of us of the power of food in culture, family gatherings, and celebrating holiday traditions. Fry bread is an important staple food for many native people, and it also has an important role in bringing people together to express gratitude and friendship. What kind of food does your family share when they come together? What are some holiday traditions you look forward to? How do you express your gratitude for your family and friends? How are our traditions similar and distinct? These are great questions to talk about with students this time of year.

If you would like to get involved with the SAC DEI committee or have ideas for this space, we'd love to hear from you! Email AdaireSAC.DEI@gmail.com to be connected.
