Dear Inlet View families,
As we head toward Thanksgiving, a holiday based on the concept of gratitude, I want to express my deep appreciation to our parents, students, teachers and staff. We have had almost 72 days of school that have been filled with many moments of joy, learning and thoughtfulness.
As we reflect on the Inlet View Mission and the IB guidelines, we would like to share with you that this year Inlet View staff is focusing on the concepts of Gifts, Gratitude and Giving (The triple G’s). Our students will be able to talk about what it means to be thankful for our land, our ancestors and the role they played in our states’ and the country’s history. We appreciate all your feedback and will continue to expand our curriculum, find resources that are more aligned with a more realistic perspective of history.
November provides us with the special opportunity to celebrate Alaska Native and Native Americans’ heritage and also to give thanks for the many blessings that we have been provided. At Inlet View, we are grateful beyond measure with students who warm our days with their smiles, enthusiasm and passion for learning; parents who continually seek ways to enhance our school by giving of their time and talents in numerous areas; teachers who daily give their very best to ensure that all our students reach their fullest potential. At Inlet View, we have so much to be thankful for every day!
