Latest News

Congress still working on issues of importance to the nonprofit sector

Congress gave itself an additional two weeks to pass a wrap-up spending bill by passing another short-term continuing resolution (until December 21) to replace the stopgap measure that expired last Friday. Major unresolved topics include what to do with numerous controversial policy riders attached to spending bills like the anti-Johnson Amendment language that would politicize charitable organizations, and whether to provide disaster relief in the form of spending and tax breaks to areas of the country devastated natural disasters. Read more about advocacy issues affecting the sector in the National Council of Nonprofits Advocacy Matters newsletter.

#GivingTuesday Raises Record $380 Million for Nonprofits

More than $380 million was raised online in the United States during the seventh annual #GivingTuesday event, representing a 27 percent increase over last year's total.  Read more

What makes a successful capital campaign?

A skilled fundraiser with almost 30 years in the field and a veteran of more than 15 capital campaigns, Betsy McNamara of Full Circle Consulting will walk participants through the elements of a successful capital campaign as well as traps to avoid. Business of the Year Awards

Applications for Business NH Magazine Business of the Year Awards are due by January 11. The 2019 winner of the nonprofit category will receive an unrestricted $5,000 grant from New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in tribute to Walter J. Dunfey.

Center Seeks Workshop Proposals

The NH Center for Nonprofits is seeking proposals for workshops to be presented on a pro bono basis at its NH Nonprofit Conference & Expo to be held on May 13, 2019.  This is a competitive process, and we will select workshops that comprise a balanced program. Deadline for submissions is December 28, 2018.
