Earth Day Edition

Happy 50th Anniversary of Earth Day from the Office of Sustainability! You might already know that the Office of Sustainability (OoS) and the Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE) led the effort to partner Mason with the Earth Day Network (EDN) to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2020! We’re also part of the EDN’s first-ever, state-based campaign in Virginia! Check out a few highlights below from today's many events - you can find the full list on the Earth Month Calendar. 

• 12am (EST) on 4/22 and ending at 12am (EST) on 4/23: EARTHRISE presented by the Earth Day Network (EDN). 24hrs of calls to action, events, and educational information! Follow Earth Day Network on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and add your voice with #EarthDay2020 and #EARTHRISE. • 9am-9pm (EST): Earth Day Network’s Digital Event presented by the Earth Day Network. A live event featuring impactful and inspiring speakers from all over the world. Join here!
• 5pm-6:30pm (EST): Freedom in a Can sponsored by Mason’s Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL), the Office of Sustainability, University Life, the School of Integrative Studies (SIS), Women and Gender Studies, and the Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) Office. Finding Sustainability in 72sq ft: After 7.5 years of travel with their vintage tiny home, Shari & Hutch share their story of global adventure, stewardship, and personal growth. Join by clicking here! Want a sneak-peek? Watch Shari & Hutch give a tour of their “canned ham” tiny home!
