Happy Hallo-Winter!
Well, this week’s weather has certainly jump-started our mojo for making holiday projects! Here are a few new patterns in the shop we are excited about.

Night Flight Quilt Pattern design by Basic Grey:

Customer, Jan, suggested this fun pattern with alternating bat & star blocks. Start now for a Halloween 2020 finish LOL.

Straight and Narrow Stocking Pattern from Sewn Into The Fabric:

This simple, foundation paper pieced design is a great beginner project for this technique. Staff member, Vicky, made our super cute shop model.

Snowflake Quilt from Modern Handcraft:

Manager, Julie, is dying to make this project but can’t decide which background color and design to use. So many fabulous versions out there on Instagram makes it hard to choose! #snowflakesewalong

Forest Quilt Auction to Benefit Days for Girls

The final day to bid on the Help the Girls, Forest Quilt Auction is November 6 at 3:00pm.

There will be a celebration hosted by the Days for Girls Middleton Team starting at 4:00 in our classroom. The winning bid will be announced at 5:00. Please come join them to help thank all those who bid on the quilt and the High Country Quilters for their beautiful work making it.
Days for Girls is an international organization of sewing teams that make reusable feminine hygiene kits for girls and women in areas of the globe who, while menstruating, are forced to miss school and work because feminine products are unavailable to them.

This spectacular 95”x106” auction quilt, currently displayed at Blue Bar Quilts, was made by the High Country Quilt Guild of Mount Horeb to support the work of the Days for Girls Middleton Team. The proceeds from this auction help cover the cost of materials needed to sew many parts of the kits, other kit components and shipping. To date, more than 400 kits made by the Middleton team have benefited girls and women in Malawi, Philippines, Bali, Kenya, Haiti, Botswana and most recently, Syrian refugee camps.

Bidding starts at $1,000 and continues through November 6 at 3PM. This is a sealed bid auction. Bid forms may be obtained at Blue Bar Quilts or request one by email: Bid forms can be submitted by US Mail or in person at the shop. Bids cannot be submitted via email. Please share this information freely so together we may support the efforts of our Middleton Days for Girls team.
