Special Expo Exhibit:

Madison Quilt Artist, Rumi O'Brien

Celebrated Madison quilt artist, Rumi O’Brien, will have a special exhibit at Quilt Expo this year: “Quilting Bees & Striding Lines”

"A trained watercolorist and the daughter of seminal manga (comic book) artist, Katsuji Matsumoto, Rumi O’Brien approaches every aspect of life with an artistic sensibility. This approach is reflected in her incredible, imaginative quilts. She expertly combines Japanese and American folk art traditions to create her hybrid quilting style, “story quilts," made with cotton, linen, ikat and Japanese fabrics and hand-quilted in her nature-inspired style." - via the Quilt Expo on Facebook
