Another Stunning Quilt Exhibit in Our Hallway Gallery

Laura Moss Gottlieb is the featured artist in our new Hallway Gallery exhibit this month.

Because I can’t draw… In 2004, I returned to quilting. I found it both stimulating and comforting to work with textiles and to quilt by hand. I found that I could express my feelings about my friends, family, politics, aesthetics, and life through fabric. And I discovered that a variety of techniques and processes could be used to create both representational and abstract images without drawing.” - excerpt from Laura’s artist statement.
The diversity of techniques and design in Laura’s work is a feast for the eyes. This is one you won’t want to miss.

There will be an artist’s reception for Laura on Saturday, June 15, 2PM-4PM. All are welcome!

We have a winner!

Our Viewer’s Choice winner of our anniversary quilt challenge, The Power of Two, is Jill Dow! 🌟

Her quilt also won 3rd place in the judged contest. Jill has won a case of 12 large spools of Aurifil thread.

Congratulations Jill!

Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop is on!

Blue Bar Quilts is participating in the Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop!

The WI Quilt Shop Hop runs now through June 29 and Blue Bar Quilts is part of Section 2. Our section project is an exclusive Creek Side Stitches pattern designed by Patti Hellenbrand of Village Creek Quilts.

When you get your passport stamped at each of the ten shops in Section 2 you may ask for a strip of Moda Grunge fabric to use in the section project. After you get all ten Section 2 passport stamps you will receive the pattern for free!

The shop hop fabric this year is especially appealing for UW Badger fans!

The Longest Day

Please join us again this year in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association’s THE LONGEST DAY

Now through June 21 (the longest day of the year), we are collecting donations for the Alzheimer’s Association’s THE LONGEST DAY fundraising event. When you make a purchase in the shop you will be given the opportunity to add a donation of $1 or more to your total purchase. We hope you will help us reach our fundraising goal of $500!

So many of us are touched in one way or another by Alzheimer’s. We want to contribute to the fight to end this debilitating disease.

More information about the Alzheimer’s Association and THE LONGEST DAY can be found at the South Central Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Foundation:
