Life With Cats and Art March 2020
My New Year's resolution was simple "New Beginnings." I actually stopped procrastinating and began a new painting. Also began playing tennis again.
The ginger boys are following my lead and having their own new beginnings. I refer again to my Life With Cats and Art April newsletter The relationship will evolve and change slowly. It's impossible to judge how it will go unless there is an instant bond (which happened with Skeeter and Hillman). It's now been two years. First came Red and a couple of months later we rescued Casey. Casey was very shy and scared easily. Red was just the opposite. i knew nothing about Red because he was found as a stray. I saw a posting about him on Petfinders.com where Broward County Animal Control had listed him. He was being held at Petsmart where i picked him up. I took a chance knowing nothing about him. The reason I always go on Petfinders is they usually have info on the animals available. Casey was being fostered and had a history of being with a family and then given up because he was being picked on by the other cats.
Both cats now chase and wrestle each other and Casey even joins Red on my lap. They get closer all the time and it took two years for this to happen.

This cat with the big green eyes is looking into a mouse hole at a family of mice gathered around a wedge of cheese. The red of the candles and on the cheese add a brilliant accent against the white of the mice. The curvy tails of the mice add to the whimsy. The cat has big beautiful eyes and he is clearly not happy that he can't fit in.
