Dear Friend,

This May was a whirlwind of events for the Global Justice Center.

We hosted the inaugural Global Justice Awards, and were honored to see so many friends and allies show their support for our mission. We were inspired by Patricia Sellers' powerful acceptance speech: "to all the young feminist lawyers: go to the places where they say you have no business. The time is urgent, and you must take it."

Taking those words to heart, we advocated for gender justice at events around the world—from the launch of the Gendered Peace project at the London School of Economics to the Gender and Genocide panel on the sidelines of the UN Security Council debate on the Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict.

Webinar: Stopping Sexual Violence in Conflict
This afternoon, at 11:30 am EST, tune in as Akila Radhakrishnan and other experts discuss the steps that must be taken to ensure that perpetrators of sexual violence are held accountable for their crimes. The webinar is co-hosted by International Coalition of Sites of Conscience and the Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crimes.  Register Here.
Gender and Genocide Panel
On the sidelines of the UN Security Council debate on the Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict, GJC and International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect (ICRtoP) hosted a panel discussion about the gendered elements of genocide. Panelists agreed: a gender lens is critical to strengthen prevention, accountability, and protection efforts. Read More.
What Does a Gender Perspective Bring to Crimes Against Humanity Genocide, and War Crimes?
Akila Radhakrishnan, Patricia Viseur Sellers, and Christine Chinkin discussed the importance of analyzing international crimes through a gendered lens at the launch of the London School of Economics' new Gendered Peace project. Read More.
Global Justice Awards

Thank you for joining us at the inaugural Global Justice Awards. We were thrilled to honor three incredible women—Patricia Viseur Sellers, Tina Tchen, and Abigail Disney—for their important work. We hope to see you again next year! View Photos.
