HOT is the word of the week! The expected heat of August arrived a little late and thankfully will not last long. This week on Wednesday, After-School Youth and Children's Ministries kicked off. Community Groups are beginning to meet this month also. In couple weeks, we will gather for "Come to the Table"a churchwide Fried Chicken Sunday Dinner after worship to get a jump start also. September at FUMC is a season of fresh beginnings whether hot temperatures are holding on or not.
This Sunday, we will begin a new 3 week sermon series called "Writing Your Story" as we focus on Jeremiah 1:4-10. The "Be the Church Moment" will be offered by Drew Mims. Sunday Afternoon the Children's Ministry will host a "Back to School Bash" Swimming Party in my backyard. I hope to see you in worship and in Sunday School!
September Mission Drive....Peanut Butter
The Mission Committee invites you to donate jars of Peanut Butter to be given to Harvest Texarkana Back Pack Program! I hope as a church family, we can at least donate a 100 jars of peanut butter, if not 150 jars or more, but to do so means we need your to help by donating! Bring your donation of peanut butter on Sunday or anytime during September!!
3rd Annual Come to the Table"... A Church-Wide Celebration and Ministry Fair Sunday September 22nd immediately following worship!!
Bring a Dessert to Be shared with Other is possible!

Back to School Bash Swimming Party is this Sunday at 3pm at 1 PIne Grove Place, Texarkana, Arkansas for parents and children hosted by the Children's Ministry Council. Pizza will be served as well as a Build your own Sundae Bar! A Lifeguard will be on duty.
Will you share your college students mailing address and email address with us at FUMC! We would like to include mail them "the Happenings", "Untimely Ramblings", and include them one occasional special mailings to college students. You can respond to this email with the mailing addresses and email addresses or please send to melody@Bethechurch.email.
Van Drivers and Van Chaperones are still needed Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4 pm to pick-up students at various area schools and bring them to FUMC for After-School Ministries. The Lay Leadership Committee on Nominations will begin meeting on Sunday, September 15th at 5pm and possibly meet weekly through Sunday Oct. 6, with the sole purpose of designing committees of ministry for 2020 through 2023. Please be in prayer for the right persons to be ask to serve on a committee of ministry and to respond.
"Mom Set Free" bible Study begins this Sunday!!!!
"Mom Set Free" a 7 session Bible Study for Mothers will Begin Sunday, September 8th at 9:30 a.m. in the the Family Life Center Conference Room. The study will be guided by Amy Meadows
