Team Blyth Boy star at XC Relays
It was a fantastic Saturday at the NECAA XC Relays for Team Blyth juniors, with 5 of our boys producing fine performances at Thornley Farm. Our U13 team was led of by Dexter Heatley on his club debut, and he had a fantastic run to set up Jamie on the 2nd leg. It was another strong leg. and Jamie handed over to George on the final leg, with the team coming home a fantastic 5th. Our U15 Boys team of Luke Stewart and James Green both ran fantastically, however sadly without a 3rd team member did not pick up an overall team placing. Fantastic runs from all the boys and great to see such fantastcic XC Particpation.

At our local parkruns, Daniel and William Hall both ran strongly at Blyth Links, whilst over at Whitley Bay Elliot and Jack produced fine runs once again.

Over the next few months we have lots more cross-country action, as well as indoor competitions. Check out the events below for more info!

This year our athletes have earned 77 AAA awards, a huge increase on last year! This is testament to all your hard work. To find out more about the AAA scheme and badges, check out the link further below.
We have a supply of AAA Badges and Certificates. Find out more about the scheme and the standards HERE

If you have achieved a standard (must be a legal performance on power of 10), you are entitled to a badge. Athletes will receive their first badge FREE. Thereafter, they cost £4.50 each, contact Dan if you wish to purchase one.
Athletics can only run thanks to the support of volunteers. One thing we are desperately short of is FIELD OFFICIALS. These are volunteers who can help run field events at T&F comps, in particular the NEYDL. As a participating club, we are required by the rules to provided qualified officials at NEYDL events, something we have struggled to do last year. This year, if we are unable to fulfill our obligation to provide officials, we will not only lose points, but also we will be limited in the numbers of athletes we can enter into field events. This is something that we cannot allow to happen.

If you wish to consider starting on the officiating  journey, then please know that you will have the full support of the club and all fees will be paid in full by the club. Officials receive expenses, and have opportunities to progress if the ambition is there. Officials from Blyth have recently been in action at World-Class Diamond League events, and will testify that it is the most rewarding experience.
