We finish this weeks report down in Sheffield at the England Athletics Age Group Championships. With 4 of our juniors representing the club, it was wonderful to see such representation at the highest level. on Saturday, Sadie Parker kicked the action off in the U17 long jump. She delivered on her very first attempt - flying out to a huge 5.71m. This was backed up by further large jumps, and Sadie secured a stunning silver medal. Later in the day, Lauren went in the 800m heats. In a fast paced race, she worked hard to keep with the leading group, and was rewarded with a 4th place finish and indoor PB. Sadly, she just missed out on a place in the final.

On Sunday, Hannah Wilson kicked things off on track in the U17 200m heats. She produced a controlled performance to qualify by right for the semi-final. Meanwhile, Luke Pichler was engaged in a superb Long Jump competition. He built throughout the competition, eventually securing a 5th place finish, with a new U17 club record of 6.50m. Hannah was next up in the 200m semi final, where she finished in 4th, just outside her PB. Later in the afternoon, Luke produced a strong finish in his 60m hurdles heat to qualify for the final, which closed out the weekend. Luke was involved in a stunning race, with a blanket finish. It was an agonising 4th for Luke, just 0.01 away from the medals. However, he was rewarded with a massive new PB of 8.32s.
