Blyth Juniors show class at home XC
Druridge Bay was the setting for the 2nd Harrier League XC of the season, with Blyth Running Club hosting. Our club members helped put on a fantastic meeting, and provided a great course for our juniors to get stuck in to.

Once again it was great to have a complete U13 boys team, which finished in an excellent ninth. Frankie Foster finished 9th, with William Hall and George Bryce both in the top 50. In the U13 girls race Niamh Adams finished in a fantastic 7th place in a field of nearly 70 girls, whilst Luke Stewart was 43rd in the U15 boys race.
Make sure you have Blyth as your club in your profile so you are included in our report!
Last weekend Evan Falkous took part in the Kielder junior Falcons U16 race, and he produced a fine performance to finish in 11th place in a time of 8:28. Great work Evan!
We have postponed our celebration night by two weeks, to allow us to secure the best possible venue and make the day as fantastic as possible for our juniors. More details will follow. We will definintely be holding a raffle, so if you have any prizes to donate, please give them to Claire (Niamh's Mam) or Diane (Lauren & Caitlin's Mam)
IMPORTANT INFO - For the last 18 months we have been using Heja app. We are now in the process of moving to an App that better serves our needs, so we have commenced use of SPOND. Currently our Endurance and foundation Endurance groups will remain on Heja, with all other groups using spond. Please download ASAP and contact Dan for log-in detais, as all sessions will only be published on Spond going forward.

One of the key new features is that for the first time you will be able to pay directly through the app for traning sessions. More details to follow.

Being part of Team Blyth can be so much more than just coming to training and doing competitions - we really want to develop well-rounded young people that are confident and willing to get involved in all aspects of the sport they love.

We are delighted to be able to launch the Team Blyth kit range!

A huge thanks to Michael McKenna for setting this up, and Ross Pichler for the graphic design.

Please double check the sizes as nothing can be returned with them having logos and possibly initials on too. If it doesn’t state men’s or women’s on a particular item, it will be based on male sizing so girls might need to go down a size.
We have an upgraded website. Watch out for exciting additions in the coming months, including an athlete portal!
WANT TO GET INVOLVED? - Why not train to become an athletics official. Athletics cannot take place without officials, and you can score points for #TeamBlyth as part of a rewarding and varied vocation. The club we pay course fees for any members, juniors, parents etc that want to get involved. DETAILS

If any of our juniors aged 14+, or parents/family members would like to start on their coaching journey - then check out the Leading Athletics course (online). In most cases club will pay the course costs.

#TeamBlyth runs entirely through the support of volunteers. We always encourage new coaches and officials, and the entire cost of courses and coach development will be covered by the club and Northumberland Athletics Network. For details of courses, see this link /

We are in particular need of officials in all areas, and coaches to support our growing squad of amazing young athletes. Furthermore, we have lots of roles available in event management, admin, social media management etc etc. Ask for more details.

May we remind all parents and young athletes that we expect a positive attitude, hard work and good behaviour at all sessions and competitions. Please read our code of conduct for athletes, parents/carers and coaches/volunteers HERE
