Records fall as Team Blyth in stunning form as track season begins!

It was a sensational start to the track and field season for seven of our juniors, as they put their hard work in training to the test at the Kieran Maxwell Open on Sunday.

Our U11’s were in blistering form. Martha Lorimer took 1st place in the U11 event, with a huge 3.18m PB, just ahead of Mairi-Louise with a PB of 3.05m. Liliana was also in fine form, finishing as fastest U11 in the 600m in a time of 2:08.23. Later on, Martha (75m & 600m) and Mairi (75m) set further PB’s.

In the 800m, Lauren Creaby was in stunning early season form - taking the club record and securing the ESAA entry standard with a winning time of 2:15.83. Niamh Adams put in a stellar run for 2nd place in her race, taking 5 seconds off her PB with a fantastic run. Caitlin Creaby produced an outdoor PB in the long jump with 4.15, and smashed her 100m PB with a time of 14.06s to cap a fine day.

Hollie-Anne Sudder starred in the field, finishing as 1st U15 girl with a brand new club record of 29.47m in the Javelin.

What a start to the season! PB’s for every athlete in every event is testament to their hard work over the winter.

Elsewhere, Grace Thompson was a fantastic volunteer at the Peel Parkrun - She acted as trail runner, and proudly wore her club colours. Fantastic work Grace,  volunteering at such a young age shows fantastic spirit and kindness.

At Blyth Links Parkrun, William Hall produced a strong run over 5k, whilst at South Beach Henry Bryce recorded a new PB of 9:16 with Oliver Dunn having a great run!

At Whitley Bay junior parkrun, Alex Fielding scored a great new PB of 8:55 whislt Elliot Summers finished in a strong 8:22

Well done everyone!
