Its been another busy weekend of Parkruns. Running over 5km at Blyth Links, George Bryce set a new personal best of 21.50 in challenging conditions. Meanwhile on Sunday, Jack Ellis and Grace Thompson put in strong runs at South Beach junior parkrun, whilst over at Whitley Bay Frankie Foster recorded a time of 7:40, with Jack Irving 10:39. Fantastic work from our park-runners this week!

At the British Universities and College (BUCS) Championships at Sheffield, Alfie Ward just missed out on a place on the long jump final by 1 place, after leaping to 6.32m in his qualifying pool. Meanwhile in Middlesbrough, Mairi-Louise Carson and Alexander Robson-Lamb represented the club superbly at the Fantastic Four competition. We are waiting for full results to come out, but Alex and Mairi-Louise took 1st and 2nd in their 40m sprint heat, and did fantastic in their other events including shot put, standing long jump and her endurance run.

It can be hard to keep track of all the events and competitions going on - there is a lot out there, but we know it can be overwhelming! Its always best to chat with coaches about what events and comps are suitable for athletes. Furthermore, we would love to have more contributors who can help find local events (particularly road races) that we often miss. Below we have advertised some comps, including the Birtley XC Relays. Take a look!

A reminder that membership fees for 2023 are now due, details further down the newsletter.
We would love to have new contributors to the newsletter - this can be things like sourcing event info, more detailed race/event reports, and any other content that may be great to go in the newsletter. As it stands the newsletter rarely goes out on time, and is in danger of finishing entirely without new contributors. Contact Dan if you can help!
