Blyth Juniors perform superbly at Northumberland Schools XC

On Tuesday, Temple Park was the setting for the Northumberland Schools XC Championships, which took place in icy conditions. Dexter Heatley (East Northumberland), was racing in the junior boys race and finished in 38th place, not far ahead of George Bryce (East Northumberland) in 50th place, and Frankie Foster.

In the Junior Girls race, Niamh Adams (East Northumberland) was an excellent 11th, with Caitlin Creaby (North Tyneside) 20th. Freya Johnson (East Northumberland) was 15th in the inter girls race. Congratulations to our athletes who proceed to Intercounties.

On Wednesday, several of our juniors took part in the clubs “Winter Series” which is a 2.5m handicap race. George Bryce recorded the 12th fastest time, with Niamh Adams 16th fastest. James recorded the 22nd fastest time, with Dexter 26th. Great work from all!

There were no local parkruns this weekend due to the Icy conditions, fingers cross milder weather to follow soon!
