Farringdon XC: Blyth juniors make their mark!
The Cross-country season commenced in fine style with a bumper team of Blyth juniors taking on the Farringdon XC course on Saturday. Josh Fiddaman led the charge running for the seniors, whilst Sophie, Niamh, Freya, Luke S, William, Daniel, Frankie, Holly, Lauren and Caitlin all put in fantastic committed runs. Results are still to be published, but its hugely exciting to see so many juniors beginning their winter XC campaigns. More details on the XC season ahead, can be found further down the newsletter. Blythathlon: Juniors learn and develop in multi-events
A glorious warm september afternoon greeted 23 Blyth juniors as they tried their hand across a wide range of events at our 2nd Blythathlon. With many making their club debuts, and lots more returning after taking part at our first event, it was a fantastic day of friendly competition and learning.
Almost all athletes set new overall points PB's, and there were opportunities to receive coaching tips along the way. A huge thanks to our small team of volunteers who put in a fantastic shift, including our young volunteers Abi, Senna, Sadie, Eleanor and Christopher, as well as parents/coaches Diane, Rob, Helen and Nigel.

Results are HERE
Here are the XC fixtures for this season, with more to follow. To find out more, ask any of the coaches. The club will pay your entry fee for all of these events!
Alfie Ward competed today at York in the upper YDL, competing as a higher claim athlete for Gateshead Harriers. Alfie produced a fine series of performances, with 6.66m in the long jump, 15.6s in the 110m hurdles, and a 31m+ discus throw.
Make sure you have Blyth as your club in your profile so you are included in our report!
