DAYLIGHT SAVINGS starts Sunday, March 8th.  Be sure to set your clocks forward an hour so you don’t miss Worship on Sunday.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY Biblical Parables are some of the greatest stories ever told. The Women’s Bible Study will resume studying some of them weekly on Tuesday, March 3 @ 10:30 a.m. A tiny bit of homework is involved so you will need a Bible and a work booklet.  We learn a lot about how to apply scripture to our lives and have a lot of fun! Interested? Contact Betty Kaiser today or call her at 942-1317 to order a booklet. Our first meeting will be at Toni Broadwater’s.

BOOK GROUP Start your reading!  The church book group is meeting next on Sunday, May 3rd.  We are reading Marilynne Robinson's novel Gilead.  Amazon describes it this way, "an intimate tale of three generations, from the Civil War to the 20th century: a story about fathers and sons and the spiritual battles that still rage at America's heart."  This is a beautiful book - please plan to join us for the discussion.

HYMN SING Do you have a favorite hymn?  On Sunday, March 29th, join us for a hymn sing in worship.  Please, turn in your favorite hymn title; we'll sing it and learn the story behind the hymn.  There is only room for 5 or 6 hymns, but don't worry we'll have another hymn sing in August.  One requirement - it must be in our hymnal.  Please write down the title and your name - tell me why you love it, and put it in the offering plate.  We'll sing as many as we can.  Thank you!

LA CASA DE PASO Sharon Franklin is a Eugene resident who has started a small home in Tijuana to shelter families who are stranded at the border while waiting for their number to be called so they can seek asylum in the United States.  While families are housed at La Case De Paso they are provided food, information, kindness, and a safe place to sleep.  If you would like to learn more about La Case de Paso and possibly make a financial contribution, visit lacasadepaso.com

SAVE THE DATE Kate Davies is returning to Cottage Grove!  Kate led a wonderful workshop on Intrinsic Hope several years ago.  This year's one day retreat is called, Connecting, Opening and Transforming our Grief for the World.  Kate will help us see our connections to the earth and to one another; we will address how we feel about what's happening in the world and work to transform our reactions to get to a positive response.  Kate will be here on Memorial Day Weekend - Saturday, May, 23rd from 9 am - 4 pm, she will preach on Sunday morning.
