First Pres Readers, please join us for our next book group on Sunday, February 16th
from 3-5pm in the Friendship Hall. We are reading, The Great Spiritual Migration: How the World’s Largest Religion Is Seeking a Better Way to Be Christian
by Brian McLaren. From a description of the book, “Brian McLaren, a leading voice in contemporary religion, argues that— notwithstanding the dire headlines about the demise of faith and drop in church attendance—Christian faith is not dying. Rather, it is embarking on a once-in-an-era spiritual shift. For millions, the journey has already begun.”
GREEN BAG SUNDAY
Every Communion Sunday, we collect food items in green bags (found in Friendship Hall,) for Community Sharing.
On Communion Sundays, the first Sunday of the month, envelopes are available in the pews to donate to the Deacons’ fund. The Deacons’ fund is used to help church members and people in the community who need assistance paying their rent, utility bills and other one-time needs, such as a tank of gas.
