A QUESTION FROM THE WORSHIP COMMITTEE
In an effort to be more inclusive, the Worship Committee is wondering if large print bulletins and hymnals might be helpful to some in our congregation. Would large print materials enhance your worship? If so, please put a note in the offering plate or see the Chair of Worship Committee, Wendy Kelsh, or Rev. Karen Hill. Thank you.
YOUTH GROUP MEETS AGAIN IN 2020
Today, the youth group will meet from 5-7pm in Friendship Hall. We'll decorate soup pots for Souper Bowl Sunday, talk about hunger in our community and hunger in scripture and play some music on the bells. Join us!
KNIT AND WORSHIP
If you listen better when you do something with your hands, we invite you to take a scarf from the basket in the Narthex. Knit a few rows during worship, according to the attached pattern. As you knit, pray for the person receiving the scarf. After worship, return the scarf to the basket; completed scarves will be given to people in need. Questions, see Janet Monsen-Daniels or Chris Heritage.
THE DEACONS WILL SOON BE PREPARING MORE SOUP
to take to members of our church family. They welcome any donations of pint-size wide-mouthed glass jars. Many thanks for your help!
on Friday, February 7th at 7 p.m.
Please invite your family and friends. We will be viewing "Beauty & the Beast"
(2017 live-action version) on the newly installed big screen with a fabulous sound system. Popcorn & beverages will be provided. Please bring your favorite movie snack to share.
SOUPER BOWL OF CARING!
On Super Bowl Sunday, February 2nd, our young people will lead us in the Souper Bowl of Caring. Please bring food and cash to church to donate to feed hungry people through Community Sharing. You can vote for your favorite football team while spreading love in Cottage Grove. Thanks for giving.
2020 SOUTH LANE COUNTY RESOURCE GUIDE IS AVAILABLE.
The book is dedicated to Dian Missar, a past FPC member, “for her many years of volunteer work and dedication to children, youth, and families in the Cottage Grove and Creswell communities. One of her major projects was preparing and printing the Family Resources Directory through Parent Partnership….”
On Communion Sundays, the first Sunday of the month, envelopes are available in the pews to donate to the Deacons’ fund. The Deacons’ fund is used to help church members and people in the community who need assistance paying their rent, utility bills and other one-time needs, such as a tank of gas.
GREEN BAG SUNDAY
Every Communion Sunday, which is next Sunday, we collect food items in green bags (found in Friendship Hall,) for Community Sharing.
