Looking for a career in IT?

There are opportunities to join the IT Team at St John Paul II College through a Microsoft Traineeship.
 
This is a paid position which provides you with on-the-job training and development alongside gaining nationally recognised certification. You will complete a Certificate IV in Information Technology and obtain industry-recognised Microsoft Certifications. This includes a specialisation in Cloud Skills as part of the Azure Administrator Certification Track.

The Microsoft Traineeship program runs for 24 months. Within that period, you will be working full time with the St John Paul II College IT team (who are registered within the Microsoft Australia network) and they’ll be responsible for your day to day work, on-the-job training and development.
 
There is no cost to be a part of the program.
 
You must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (or NZ Resident & lived in Australia for 6 months) to be eligible.

The Excelsia and Sydney Film School Award is a prestigious film festival run by Excelsia College and Sydney Film School to give emerging talent an opportunity to develop and share their voice. The festival seeks deep and meaningful short films from senior high school (years 11 and 12) students expressing thematic content around the nature of morality, existence, spirituality, philosophy, reality and truth. Whilst this thematic content often leads primarily to dramas, all genres such as comedy, action, documentary, or thriller are accepted and encouraged.

Scholarships are available for full-time first year of study in the Bachelor of Screen Production. These limited scholarships will be offered to the film festival winners through set criteria and a judging process.

Transport Canberra and City Services (TCCS) is excited to announce a pilot traineeship program in its Place Management unit. This traineeship will be advertised in the coming weeks, with commencement to take place in April 2023.

The traineeship program was developed to provide additional pathways to entry-level job seekers at TCCS. Trainees will receive mentoring, on-the-job and accredited training in a variety of areas starting as a General Services Officer Level 3 (GSO3).

The Trainee General Services Officer Grade 3/4 positions work as part of a team undertaking maintenance of urban open space areas including mowing, cleaning public spaces, litter collection, garden bed maintenance and weed control services. This role is hands on and operationally focused.

These are entry-level positions, so previous experience is not required however an interest in the city of Canberra’s look and feel, as well as a desire to learn will be highly regarded. This would be a great opportunity for someone who would like to get into ACT Government but doesn’t want a desk job, but someone who enjoys the outdoors and wants to learn new skills which help maintain our beautiful city!

There are six positions available. Two of which are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified.

Qualifications and on-the-job training included in this Traineeship:

1.           Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card).

2.           Asbestos Awareness card.

3.           Safe handling of sharps and infectious waste statement of attainment.

4.           A range of CIT nationally recognised units which can go towards gaining a certificate level qualification.

 

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge

1.                   Competent in mobile software applications.

 

Compliance Requirements:

1.           Driver’s licence C Class is essential.

2.           Permanent resident of Australia.
