Internal News

ADSS Cymru Members’ Summer Festival, 12 – 16 July 2021

The ADSS Cymru Members’ Summer Festival is a virtual event for members and invited guests, with opportunities to network and share experiences with colleagues, learn about and discuss the latest developments for the organisation and our strategic partners, and share in the good practice that has taken place across social care and health over the last year.

The Festival will also focus on workforce well-being and will include discussions, opportunities to participate in activities that support your own well-being and explore how you can support colleagues.

The event will be a mixture of live and pre-recorded sessions, taking place from 12 – 16 July 2021.

Having been unable to arrange our Annual Spring Seminar for members this year, we nonetheless want to give our members that all-important opportunity, albeit virtually, to learn, discuss, share and to support one another as we continue to find our way out of the pandemic and plan our recovery.

The Festival is open to all our members and is free of charge. Members must register to attend, and registration details will be sent out in due course. In the meantime, please SAVE THE DATE for your attendance.

News from Strategic Partners

Hospice UK have requested volunteers to join a Steering Group for their programme ‘Seamless and sustainable’, which is part the UK-wide Future Vision programme.

Seamless and Sustainable will specifically look at the future possibilities for, and the steps towards achieving, integrated palliative and end of life care closer to home. This will be achieved through hosting facilitated challenge conversations bringing together leaders and practitioners from across health and social care. This work will inform the Welsh Government’s forthcoming End of Life Care national programme.

Access to good social care is a cornerstone of good end of life care in the community and Hospice Uk are determined to ensure that leaders in the field are involved in driving forward the work, and then in implementing the changes needed for the future.

The Steering Group will held its first meeting this week and aims to go live with the programme in June through to July. At every step, the work will be informed by people with lived experience.

If you’d like to join this group, or if you’d like further information, please contact c.edwards@hospiceuk.org

We are pleased to let you know that the volunteers survey:  Learning lessons from the community-led response to COVID-19 in Wales Survey has gone live, and will be open for 6-8 weeks (until w/c 7th July).

The survey can be accessed on the links below:
https://wh.snapsurveys.com/s.asp?k=162072332977   or https://bit.ly/3ezWtG4

The online survey is anonymous, and takes around 15 minutes to complete. There are also options for completion via telephone/postal and in Welsh, if required. The survey is delivered by Strategic Research and Insight, on our behalf.

Please help share the survey link across your networks to help us reach a wider range of volunteers across Wales, or share with anyone who has supported their community/given up their time freely to help others during the pandemic.

We have prepared a short brief about the survey on our R&E pages, for anyone who may require more information, which you can find on the links below:
PHW has also published a short news story on their website, accessible on the links below:
