Coronavirus (Covid-19) Support for Commissioned Providers

ADSS Cymru is working in partnership with CIW, Social Care Wales, WLGA and Welsh Government to produce a document detailing support for Commissioned Providers. The guidance lists a range of pressures and actions that commissioners may take to address them in dealing with issues arising from the current Covid-19 crisis. This page will continue to be updated as and when necessary.

We are also working with the National Commissioning Board, Welsh Government and others to compile a bulletin drawing together links to the latest updates on guidance for care providers as it has been suggested that there is a need for a consistent source of information. We’re aiming for this to be published on Wednesday. This will also be featured on our website and regularly updated, with emails going out to keep raising awareness.

The bulletin will be featured here: https://www.adss.cymru/en/category/coronavirus-covid-19

News & Events

Farewell and welcome to our Presidents...

April sees the annual handover of the ADSS Cymru Presidency. This year's President is Nicola Stubbins, Corporate Director of Social Services Denbighshire County Council.

ADSS Cymru is grateful for the leadership of our outgoing President, Sue Cooper whose leadership over the last year has been invaluable. Commenting on her year as leader, Sue said:

"It’s been a great privilege to be President of ADSS Cymru for the past year and I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity, my thanks to everybody for their support during this time. Social Care has a significant role within our communities, today more than ever. It’s a profession that we must value, doing all we can to protect and continue to promote it in the future.

I would like to wish all my colleagues well in the future and a special good luck to Nicola Stubbins, as she takes over the role of President for 2020/21. Nicola has already made a great start by taking a leadership role for ADSS Cymru in the current Covid-19 crisis".

Head of the ADSS Cymru Business Unit, Jonathan Morgan, extended thanks on behalf of the organisation:

"Sue has achieved great things in her year of office and i'd like to thank her for this, she had lead the organisation and continued to ensure that ADSS Cymru plays a central role in articulating the view of the professional leadership of social care in Wales.

I know that we are all looking forward to working with Nicola Stubbins on a range of national issues that will require the input and leadership of ADSS Cymru during her term as President."

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our Vice Presidents:
Jonathan Griffiths, Director of Social Services, Pembrokeshire
Alwyn Jones, Director of Social Services, Isle of Anglesey County Council
