In this issue we highlight our response to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and highlight other key issues impacting on social care.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Support for Commissioned Providers

ADSS Cymru is working in partnership with CIW, Social Care Wales, WLGA and Welsh Government to produce a document detailing support for Commissioned Providers. The guidance lists a range of pressures and actions that commissioners may take to address them in dealing with issues arising from the current Covid-19 crisis. This page will continue to be updated as and when necessary.

We are also working with the National Commissioning Board, Welsh Government and others to compile a bulletin drawing together links to the latest updates on guidance for care providers as it has been suggested that there is a need for a consistent source of information. We’re aiming for this to be published on Wednesday. This will also be featured on our website and regularly updated, with emails going out to keep raising awareness.

The bulletin will be featured here:

Children In Wales

In their last members update on the 31st March, Children in Wales set out some changes they are making in the way they deliver  their services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are making adaptations and implementing new and exciting ways in which to deliver their core work.

The importance and benefits of working together, staying connected and speaking with one voice are even more important now than ever before.

Children In Wales are keen to get your views so that they can achieve these aims together, and be able to respond as effectively as possible.

Please could you take a moment to complete our survey.
Click here to complete our survey by Friday 2 May.
Welsh Government
Welsh Government Operational guidance on the delivery of Children’s Social Care for local authorities and partners involved in safeguarding children has been published on the Welsh Government website today.

This guidance will help local authorities and partners continue to provide effective support to vulnerable, at risk and care experienced children, whilst maintaining their statutory duties during the coronavirus outbreak.

The guidance sets out the measures that should be put in place to minimise the impact of the pandemic, during a time when resources available to cope with additional burdens are reduced

Please find attached letters giving details of NSPCC services available during the COVID 19 pandemic.
