Adur and Worthing Youth Council would like to meet with young leaders from groups across the district and borough. 

If you are a young volunteer, a young leader, a young person aged 11 to 18 who can represent your groups then we want to hear from you!

The Youth Unity Project (YUP) aims to bring together youth groups and youth organisations to share ideas on how to help the community we live in, help each other and help bring a positive atmosphere to young people.

We would like to invite you to an initial
Zoom meeting on Monday 1st June at 6:30pm where members of the youth council and young people aged 11+ representing different youth groups or organisations based in Adur District or Worthing Borough can introduce themselves and share ideas of how we can work together.

National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs                                
Fun, Learning, and Achievement

Young farmers are being encouraged to take time to manage their mental wellbeing by using new resources launched by The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) during Mental Health Awareness Week 2020.

The Take Time toolkit is sponsored by Tama and is being championed by NFYFC’s Youth Forum during a week-long campaign from 18-24 May, which coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week.

This week we have the amazing Kerry from Wannado Street Dance teaching us the foundations in a variety of AUTHENTIC Street dance styles including Poppin’, Lockin’, Breakin’, HipHop, House and Waackin. Make sure you have your best Dad dancing game on!

We will have a range of age-appropriate activities and breakout spaces.You can expect quizzes, crafting, Lego, dress-up, games and as part of a monthly theme, everything from film-making, DJ workshops, circus skills, science lessons and a whole lot more. All with old and new friends from around the world. This event has kindly been sponsored by Clarion Futures.

We have been working behind the scenes to keep in touch with the young people in Sussex, and have put together a schedule of weekly virtual youth groups.We will be connecting with young people throughout the coming weeks for fun, games, school work help and more.  

If you know any young people that would like to take part in our virtual youth groups, please email activities@sussexcyp.org.uk, and state which group they would like to take part in. We will send an online membership form for parents/guardians to complete, once we have received this, we will send a Zoom link to join in the fun.  The virtual youth group information will be on our website soon, so please keep visiting for updates.

The Centre for Youth Impact has launched a national data standard for the youth sector which is being developed to help gather consistent data and generate shared insight across the youth sector as a whole.

Exposed is a lock-down limited series that has been created by Fully Focused, a youth-led production company, which has been commissioned to get the message across to help young people build resilience and cope with the challenges life throws at them. An exciting opportunity for anyone aged 18-30 to train to become a Pro-Boxer on a new TV Show “Fight School” 

The series will see disillusioned young adults aged 18 - 30, who want to change their lives, living and training together as they learn the mental and physical dedication it takes to become a Pro-Boxer.

Worker Bee are in development with an exciting television project for a major broadcaster. They are looking for strong-minded individuals - both MALE AND FEMALE - who will LIVE AND TRAIN together as they learn everything it takes to become a professional boxer.

Have Your Say on life under lockdown

Healthwatch East Sussex (HWES), the local independent health and care watchdog, has launched a COVID-19 Survey to ask residents of East Sussex about their experiences of health, care and wellbeing services during lockdown.

Findings from the survey will be published on our website and will identify public views on wellbeing and where services are working well or need improvement. Health and social care service providers will be informed of the survey results and we will publish what changes they will make in response to what you say.

The survey is open until the 31st May and all responses will be in confidence. Members of the public can complete the survey in the following ways:

We have joined forces with REBOOT to create a NEW and FREE weekly schedule of sports and activities for children and their families across Sussex. There are initially 10 sessions across the week from 6 local providers. Please can you share this document amongst your partners, family networks, young people and help us get as many people involved in accessing these activities?

We will look to add more local providers to the schedule and will send any updates.
