Funding opportunity for our membership

Variety, the Childrens Charity, has grants of £250 to £600 available to youth organisations that are affiliated to either Ambition, UK Youth or the or National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs. As a member of SCYP you are affiliated to these groups through us. The grants can be used to buy equipment to provide challenging activities that engage young people aged 8-18 and provide them with alternatives to becoming involved in the anti-social behaviour that often stems from boredom and peer pressure. On occasion, applications for improvement of youth club premises, refurbishment of existing equipment or facilities will also be considered. Applicants have to raise some of the funds and applications that have young people involved in the fund raising will be looked upon favourably. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

SCYP Directors
Are you passionate about working with young people? Do you have the skills that we need?

We are looking for new Directors to become part of the board for Sussex Clubs for Young People. We are a charity supporting over 130 youth groups and organisations across East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove. From guidance on policies and delivering youth activities, to providing subsidised programmes, to summer camps, to supplying youth workers for clubs and detached sessions in communities we know a lot about working with young people.

Streetmate Mobile Youth Provision
The Streetmate Team needs a good quality used vehicle to continue their work with young people across Sussex. The mobile unit will be stocked with sports, craft and musical equipment for use in a range of settings to allow young people to be active, be challenged and a safe space to talk about the issues they face.
We are crowdfunding through Spacehive to raise the needed funds for a new mobile youth provision. Please help us support this project by pledging a minimum of £2 on the below link.
