SEEKING TRUSTEES WHO WANT A BETTER FUTURE FOR
YOUNG PEOPLE
Sussex Clubs for Young People has supported grass roots voluntary and community sector youth clubs for 80 years, starting as the county association for boys 'and girls' clubs in 1939.

We are transforming into a social enterprise to manage and provide Youth and Community Workers who will engage and involve young people in a range of clubs that benefit their local community. Through positive activities with a strong focus on health and well-being we want to create safe places where young people can enjoy learning and taking part. We want every young person to build their self-esteem and resilience with a range of opportunities to achieve awards and recognition that are valued in their communities.

Sussex Clubs for Young People are looking for new trustees with strong business backgrounds who can work with our teams of Youth and Community Workers to develop the business side of the social enterprise. We ideally need a Finance Trustee with accountancy experience, HR Trustee to support our growing staff team and a Marketing Trustee to challenge us to do better at promoting our work and the impact we have on young people.

There are excellent opportunities to shape a charity turning social enterprise, with a time commitment of only 1-2 days per month for the next three years.

If you are interested, please email chris.cook@sussexcyp.org.uk.

VIRGIN - MONEY GIVING
How to get involved

Event and activity sponsorship
We would welcome opportunities to work with businesses and partner organisations through sponsorship of our events or the work that we do. We have a range of clubs across East and West Sussex who would value your support financially, through volunteering and pro-bono professional advice.

Staff volunteering
There are plenty of opportunities for your staff to get involved with practical projects at our youth clubs, decorating, DIY projects, gardening, etc.
Join our board – we are always looking for people with business expertise to strengthen our Board of Trustees
Donating – any donation you can give means we’re able to continue to support youth clubs to thrive.
The difference your money could make
  • £30 would pay for a young person to try a new sports activity
  • £45 would enable a young person to take part in our Young Leaders residential training weekend
  • £120 would pay for a qualified instructor to run a much needed sports or arts activity at a youth club
  • £250 would go a long way in helping us continue to run our core activity programme.
