April 2022

Its Re-Entry Month!

Our team in Wasco County has been amazing!  With funding from Access to Care through Measure 110, we were able to rebuild our program and continue our work in rural Oregon!  Great work to the fantastic folks in The Dalles that change lives every day!

April is a time for Second Chances

"Every year, over 640,000 people are released from State and Federal prisons.  More than 70 million Americans have a criminal record that creates significant barriers to employment, economic stability, and successful reentry into society.  Thousands of legal and regulatory restrictions prevent these individuals from accessing employment, housing, voting, education, business licensing, and other basic opportunities.  Because of these barriers, nearly 75 percent of people who were formerly incarcerated are still unemployed a year after being released."

Bridges to Change was founded as a re-entry organization.  We have grown and expanded since 2004 to include a variety of programs that meet the need of our entire community.  At BTC, we know that re-entry services are essential to people exiting incarceration, the majority of our staff members have been a part of the criminal justice system and are living proof that supportive services change lives.
