Meet the Judges
Cole & Jill Harvie
|
|
|
Cole & Jill ranch with their daughters Tinley & Lyla Harvie near Olds Alberta under the name Harvie Ranching and are partners with Cole’s parents, Ian and Marlene Harvie. The ranch runs 350 purebred polled Herefords, Charolais and Simmentals. Along with exhibiting cattle across North America, Jill & Cole enjoy judging cattle shows, some of the most notable recent shows include:

Cole oversees cattle health, management and breeding at the ranch and specifically enjoyed building a large embryo transfer program over the last few years. Harvie Ranching has establish successful markets of semen and embryos in over 12 countries. Cole graduated from Dodge City Community College, Kansas on a Judging Scholarship and also completed his Land ReClamation Diploma at Olds, College. Jill is employed by the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), as the Public & Stakeholder Engagement Manager. Jill’s primary responsibility is to oversee the Public Engagement & Issues Management program, which addresses consumer concerns, public trust issues, and ensures our industry has the tools to communicate effectively and proactively with the public on how beef is raised in Canada. Finally, Jill is a director on the International Stockmen’s Education Foundation (ISEF) and the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC). Jill received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agribusiness at Olds College and a Diploma in Agriculture in Animal Science from the University of Guelph.

HELP WANTED
The ALA is looking for help manning the booth at Farmfair International. If you are interested in helping to promote the breed during Farmfair from November 8 - 11th we would love to have you spend some time in the booth. Duties Include:
- Having Fun
- Visiting with Exhibitors & Guests
- Selling Sweatshirts
- Handing Out ALA Goodies
- Promoting the Limousin Breed
Days, time and duration spent in the booth are all very flexible. If you are interested in helping out please email the ALA at info@albertalimousin.ca
