Sample Ballots Available Online
For the first time, the Delaware County Bureau of Elections is making sample ballots available online. On this webpage, users can enter the election they are researching and then their municipality (in our case, Radnor Township) and precinct (to figure out your precinct, look at this map or find your polling location on this chart). A ballot tailored to that polling site will appear as it will on Election Day.

ACTION ITEMS

VOTE ON MAY 15TH!
We have many exciting and contested races in this year's primary election. Make your voices heard as to the best candidates to lead us into this fall's general election!
Wards 1 and 7: Vote for Jack Larkin and Sean Farhy for Township Commissioner
On May 15th, voters in Ward 1 (who vote at the Wayne Senior Center or Wayne Presbyterian Church) and Ward 7 (who vote at Rosemont Plaza or the United Methodist Church) will have the opportunity to vote in BOTH the primary elections and a special election for Township Commissioner. Jack Larkin is our Democratic candidate running in Ward 1, and Sean Farhy is our Democratic candidate running in Ward 7. We need both Sean and Jack to win in order to regain control of the Board of Commissioners, so please vote and urge all of your Ward 1 and Ward 7 neighbors to vote! Note that these races are like general elections, so ANY registered voter (Democratic, Independent, or Republican) can vote for Jack/Sean. Please be advised that there will be TWO voting booths: one for the Primary Election candidates and another for the Special Election for Commissioner. To register a vote for Jack or Sean, you MUST vote in the Special Election voting booth IN ADDITION to the Primary Election voting booth. Volunteers at these polling locations will be available to guide you.

Be a Poll Greeter on Primary Day
We still need as many volunteers as possible to sign up for a shift (or two) to be a poll greeter on Primary Day. The job of a greeter is to solicit subscribers to this newsletter and to hand out Democratic party materials, including sample ballots and literature for our Wards 1 and 7 Commissioner races, to voters as they enter their polling place. Click here for more details and shift availability.

If elected, he and/or she will represent you on the Radnor Democratic Committee and help organize the Democratic Party's efforts for your precinct for a term of four years. Detailed write-in instructions are below, but you can always ask a poll worker for assistance.

If you vote at St. Mary's Parish House (3-2): Cheryl Tumola

FROM THE CHAIR

We are down to the last few days before the May Primary and, even more importantly in Radnor, the Special Elections for Township Commissioner in Wards 1 and 7. These two Special Elections will determine which party will govern Radnor Township until at least the end of next year (2019). We have two excellent candidates in Jack Larkin (Ward 1) and Sean Farhy (Ward 7), and we welcome all who can come out to support our efforts to put them in office.

I hope to see everyone at my house (238 Chamounix Road in St. Davids) this Saturday at 3pm. It'll be our pre-election rally, get together, and open house. We'll be distributing election day materials for committeepeople and for volunteers. Please come by for some good political fun!

Tuesday--Election Day--is almost upon us. As in some prior years, we will again convene at my house to tabulate Radnor's votes and hopefully celebrate Democratic victories in Wards 1 and 7. If we get our voters to turn out, it will be a great night!  --George Badey

DID YOU KNOW?

For the Primary and Special Elections on Tuesday, May 15th, the deadline to request an absentee ballot has already passed (it was May 8th).

However, did you know that emergency absentee ballots are available under certain circumstances even after May 8th?

Should you become physically disabled or ill between 5pm on the Friday before Election Day (May 11th) and 8pm on Election Day (May 15th) or if you find out after 5pm on May 11th that you will be absent from your municipality of residence on Election Day because of your business, duties, or occupation, you can apply for an Emergency Absentee Ballot via the Court of Common Pleas (click here for the emergency application form). If you are not able to appear in court to receive the ballot, you can designate, in writing, a representative to deliver the absentee ballot to you and return your completed absentee ballot to the Bureau of Elections. The voted ballot must be received in the Bureau of Elections no later than 8pm on May 15th.
All Politics Is Local, and positive change starts at home. Help us to build our party from the ground up, because today's local officials could become tomorrow's state and national leaders. Volunteer and/or donate today.
