In Peter's sermon on the Day of Pentecost, he quotes a prophecy from Psalm 110.
It's the most frequently quoted Old Testament verse in the New Testament--it appears 25 times!
And for good reason:
It's a verse that attributes deity to the Lord Jesus; in other words, it declares that the Messiah is God Himself!
When the Jews in the crowd heard that they were responsible for putting the Lord of glory to death--they were cut to the heart!
As grieved as they were, there was good news to come!
May the Lord, who died and rose again, prepare our hearts to receive His Word.
"Let us not give up meeting together... but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see The Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25).
