Welcome to the 2018-19 School Year!

Note from the Chair:

Welcome back to both our returning students and our new undergraduate and graduate students. I hope you all had enjoyable summers, and are as excited as we are to start another year.  We’ve had a busy and productive summer here at Georgetown Physics:  The renovation of Regents 113 to accommodate the research lab of our new faculty member, Prof Kai Liu (https://physics.georgetown.edu/users/kai-liu), is nearly complete, and his impressive array of materials fabrication and characterization equipment will be coming online soon.  A number of updates to the 5th floor of Reiss are underway, including the addition of a video monitor in the lobby to provide news and all kinds of exciting information!

For more highlights from the summer, check out our Department News (https://physics.georgetown.edu/news).  We look forward to seeing you at the Department Picnic Sept. 21st.
