Forty-four entries were received in January's competition 'Close Up' and we are now over half way through the whole challenge. Winners will be announced next week.
The theme for February is 'Happiness' and we invite entries from staff and students to be received by Monday 28th February.

Emmanuel started life as a child soldier in Southern Sudan. Now a recording artist and peace ambassador, he performs a talk taking guests on a journey from war to peace, highlighting the importance of education.

In 2016 James was diagnosed with a brain tumour that left him with little sight and ended his teaching career. James shares his story of triumph over adversity and explores how he founded the charity 'I Can and I Am'.

Paddy O'Connell, presenter of BBC Radio 4's Sunday news programme, will deliver the annual R.V. Jones Science Lecture; this year telling the story of R.V. Jones himself and how he contributed to the war effort.

The Charter School North Dulwich and Alleyn's School are working together to celebrate this year's Science Week with all their partner schools. You are invited to enter teams of three sixth-formers.

In our third student voice session students ranging from year 8 to year 12, and representing 10 of our schools, will pull together their articles relating to the 'Perception of Youth' and will be ready to go to print.

Our third and final session will give attendees an opportunity to share what they personally have learnt from our presenter, from observing others and from implementing techniques themselves.

The Advocacy Academy
Ensure applications are in by 10th February for any young activist wanting to join The Advocacy Academy.
Chemistry Competition
The closing date for Schools to enter the Royal Society of Chemistry's Schools' Analyst Competition is Weds 13th February. The competition is the 22nd February.
Greek & Latin Reading Competition
The Classical Association's London Greek & Latin Reading Competition will be held on Wednesday 13th March, candidates' names are required by 28th Feb.
The Oxford German Olympiad 2019 is on the theme of 'Tiere und Monster' and is open to students aged 9 and upwards. The deadline in noon Friday 15th March.
Oxford Uni Language Open Days
Year 12 students interested in applying for languages at Oxford are encouraged to attend an Open Day. The German open day is Saturday 23rd February.
Schools Together
All schools interested in partnerships are invited to the Schools Together meeting on Tuesday 26th March which will focus on 'Sustaining Partnerships'.
Flash Fiction
Oxford University's Flash Fiction Competitions in French and Spanish for Years 7 to 11, and Years 12 to 13 close Sunday 31st March. With a £100 top prize available!
