New Assistant Principal
Angela Kupcho has agreed to fill the Assistant Principal position for next year. As reporting and administrative responsibilities have grown and thus take more time, Mrs. Dent is glad to have someone share those responsibilities so she can spend more time with students and taking care of her other duties.

New Marketing & Communications Coordinator

We welcome Jessica Garza as our new Marketing & Communications Coordinator. As OLG School grows, we realize the need for a person dedicated to taking care of our social media and communications. Mrs. Garza has the right experience from running her own business and also has the knowledge of our school from being a parent volunteer for the past 9 years. So be on the look out for more Mariners in the media!

Team Teaching
Next year, 3rd and 4th grade will have a 'Team Teaching' approach. Ms. Martell specializes in Math and Science and will have the opportunity to teach both those subjects to 3rd & 4th graders separately. Ms. Biggs specializes in English and History and will be teaching those subjects separately to both 3rd and 4th graders. The teachers will move from class to class while the students remain in their homerooms. This team approach has the advantage of giving the students excellent content while getting them used to changing teachers in preparation for middle school.

Adam Beard
An '04 graduate of OLG, Adam Beard was one of the original students when the school opened in 1996. He later went on to graduate from St Joseph High School and became a sergeant with the Port Lavaca Police Dept. Mass was his favorite part of attending OLG, going every morning, everyday. He remembers his middle school years with all the plays the whole school was involved in and he loved rehearsing and just having fun. Beard said the most important lesson he learned at OLG was, "To never give up in anything you go through. Always strive to keep going." It is not unusual to still see Sergeant Beard at morning Mass, and he is an active alumni on campus. Thank you, Sergeant Beard, for all you do for our community!
