Tai Chi Chih (TCC) is an alternative Form of Tai Chi which is based on movements one executes somewhat like ballet movements... from one designated movement to the next one. The movements are executed first on the left side and then on the right side, etc.  With regular execution and commitment, TCC provides the participants with a practice which has the potential of improving balance, increased energy, stamina, and focus, i.e. concentration. In each session, a Practice portion at the end is designed to promote serenity and spiritual fulfillment as one enters into the closing experience.

She's graced the stages of Lincoln Center, opened for Little Richard at the Democratic National Convention, performed at the JVC Jazz Festival, and held a residency as a Champagne bar torch singer in Hong Kong.

Presented by the Performing Arts Coordinating Team (PACT)
Join our partners, Toco Hills Community Alliance at the Hunger Walk/Run 5K!
Sunday, March 15, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Register HERE today!

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, thousands of people will come together to raise awareness and funds to help fight hunger in our community. Our team will be there – and we need your support!

Hunger Walk Run is one of the most important hunger relief efforts of the year. The money we raise will feed hope for the 1 in 8 people who face hunger in our community.

Please join us in supporting this important mission! You can help us reach our team fundraising goal by making a donation on behalf of the entire team or a specific team member. Or take the next step against hunger by walking/running with us on March 15.

Together, we can make sure that a child in our community doesn’t go to bed hungry tonight. We can offer a glimmer of hope to struggling parents desperately trying to make ends meet for their family. We can ensure another senior citizen isn’t forced to choose between paying for medicine or food.

UUCA'S CARBON OFFSET FUND

Worried about the Climate Crisis? Want to help? Please donate to UUCA’s Carbon Offset Fund!

If you take a trip in a cruise ship, RV, or plane, help offset the carbon emissions caused by your trip. A general rule of thumb is to estimate your donation at 3 cents per mile traveled; or, whatever contribution you give would be appreciated. In the future, you may check out the UUCA website for the Carbon Offset Calculator.

How to donate to the fund:
Just write a check to “UUCA” with “Carbon Offset Fund” or “COF” in the subject line.
If you have questions, please contact Hoke Kimball at hokekimball@bellsouth.net or Sue Certain@comcast.net.

Contributions will pay for environmental projects not otherwise funded at the new building. The Climate Action Team thanks you, and Planet Earth thanks you.

Project Phoenix Update

Capital Campaign Feasibility Study

Coxe Curry is conducting interviews with congregants regarding the proposed capital campaign to fund renovations at UUCA's new home, 2650 North Druid Hills. If you have received a letter, call or email from Coxe Curry, please respond promptly so you can share your thoughts with the team as part of this important initiative.

2650 North Druid Hills Activity

The Project Phoenix team is working with our civil engineer to prepare the final site-work drawings needed for the Land Development Permit (LDP) at 2650 North Druid Hills. We must have an LDP before we can apply for a permanent sign permit. In the interim, we are working with our real estate broker to place a temporary sign at the new property. Stay tuned for progress as it develops.

BIG BETHEL SATURDAY ACADEMY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

Big Bethel's Saturday Academy is a UUCA Partner in Education in the Hope Hill Neighborhood, with whom we have worked for almost a decade. Their program supports underserved children with meals, academic activities, as well as fun activities on Saturdays.

We are looking for a few more UUCA volunteers who can (a) help plan math curriculum (i.e., Grs.3-5) or (b) help plan and organize field trips so these children can learn about the world outside their immediate neighborhood. The hours for the above activities can be arranged and need not be on Saturdays.

For more information, please contact Beth Davis etdavis6@earthlink.net with your questions and contact information.
