Whitney Young Society Service

Sunday, July 28 at 10:00 AM

The Whitney Young Society @ UUCA attended The Legacy Museum and the The National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery Alabama. The Legacy Museum is located on a site where enslaved black people were once warehoused.  The Whitney Young Jr. Society believes that the history of racial inequality and economic injustice has created continuing challenges for the African American community and poor communities of all races, and more must be done to advance our collective goal of equal justice for all.  This field study will support the Whitney Young Jr. Society service, Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 10:00am.  All are welcome!

Sunday RE

Turning Points in UU History
Turning Points in UU History from 11:30 - 12:30 in the Sanctuary.

This is the second in a six-session exploration of turning points and controversies in our history that will delve into the complexities of these historical moments, how they shaped Unitarian Universalism, and how they relate to our faith today. Each session will reflect on the sides involved in the controversy, putting participants in the shoes of those who lived through it. While there is some overlap in content between this series and other UU history sessions Adult RE has offered, Turning Points in UU History will take historical understanding to a deeper level to the moments when we struggled to define who we are as a movement. The series will be led by Jim Kelley assisted by Frank Casper and Kim Green, all long-time UUCA members.
