2650 North Druid Hills Cleanup

A team of UUCA congregants led by Bert Pearce helped spruce up the front grounds at 2650 NDH on June 22. Neighbors also stopped by to ask about UUCA's progress towards renovation and move in. Many thanks to Mary Ann McGourty, Karen Lindauer, Ginny Sjoquist, Sven Lovegren and Bert for tidying up some of the front beds and for sharing a friendly chat with our neighbors!

Looking Ahead

Turning Points in UU History
Starting July 7, join us for Turning Points in UU History, a six-session exploration of turning points and controversies in our history that will delve into the complexities of these historical moments, how they shaped Unitarian Universalism, and how they relate to our faith today. Each session will reflect on the sides involved in the controversy, putting participants in the shoes of those who lived through it. While there is some overlap in content between this series and other UU history sessions Adult RE has offered, Turning Points in UU History will take historical understanding to a deeper level to the moments when we struggled to define who we are as a movement. The series will be led by Jim Kelley assisted by Frank Casper and Kim Green, all long-time UUCA members.

There are no Community Classes scheduled for the week of 7/1/19.

Looking Ahead:

Month of Meditation
Thursday, July 11, 10-11am in the Social Hall

In this meditation series we will learn a basic seated meditation practice with a different focus each week. Seated meditation will be either in chairs or on the floor, depending on individual
preferences and abilities. In addition to the one hour weekly class, participants will be asked to commit to a regular daily practice at home of 15 minutes per day and encouraged to keep a meditation journal.

Anyone who is interested in beginning/establishing a meditation practice or who has an ongoing practice will be welcome.
Attend as many sessions as you are able.
