Dear Challenge Aspen Family,

Spring is quickly approaching, but there are still plenty of amazing ski days remaining to enjoy this season. Our local participants just wrapped up an exciting weekend at Copper Mountain in the Special Olympics state competition and continue to train for the upcoming NASTAR Nationals. Four CAMO retreats remain this season, and our busy March calendar of adaptive ski and snowboard lessons reflects our vision for inclusive participation on the four local mountains. We are looking toward the future and planning a summer calendar filled with exciting events and meaningful programs to engage with participants and donors alike. I’m thrilled to announce our preliminary calendar of events.
  • July 22nd: Music and Dance Camp participant performance at TACAW
  • July 23rd: Join us for our 2nd Annual Denim and Diamonds Gala at T-Lazy-7 Ranch
  • August 1st: The Challenge Aspen Golf Classic returns to the Snowmass Club with exciting contests and prizes
  • August 20th: Challenge Aspen’s Annual Cornhole Tournament will return to Crown Mountain Park for a 3rd year
Inclusivity is the pillar of our programs that creates life-changing opportunities. We are looking forward to sunny spring days in the Colorado mountains, and continuing to help others redefine their limits and recognize new abilities. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you to help us cheer for our amazing local athletes at NASTAR Nationals on Snowmass Mountain April 5th and 6th!

With gratitude,

Lindsay Cagley
Challenge Aspen Racers Compete and Celebrate at State
Our local athletes competed in the Special Olympics State Competition this past weekend at Copper Mountain! This was the first time since March 2020 that the competition was held in person. Our athletes raced Slalom and GS courses and competed against all the other Special Olympic athletes from across the state of Colorado. Way to go, Team Challenge Aspen!

Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities (CAMO) Programming
CAMO is proud to continue partnering with Operation Healing Forces, an incredible nonprofit that serves the men and women of the Special Forces and their significant others by striving to strengthen bonds between partners. Pictured above are Jen and Brian (US Navy), who have struggled to find time for themselves between Brian’s many deployments and raising 4 kids.

“For us to be able to go away and share this time, having an adventure like this together, when we get back home it creates more of a bond between just us, and a shared experience to lean on.”

Thank you, Aspen Elks Lodge!
The CAMO team would like to send a huge thank you to our friends at Aspen Elks Lodge, who have generously hosted a dinner for each of our veteran retreats this winter season. Our participants have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the chance to mingle and chat with the Roaring Fork Valley community Elks members, all of whom bring a joyful presence to the dinners shared. Pictured above are a few of the veterans taking in the view of town from the roof of the Elks building.
