Open Silo Dispatch
1. Open Silo Happy Hour Teaser

This month Open Silo is hosting our Urban Agriculture Happy Hour with the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program! Come chat with Rachel Surls, the Sustainable Food Systems Advisor at UCCE, and other Master Gardeners to learn more about their work. This program trains Angelinos in the art of growing food with a commitment to volunteerism. The Cooperative Extension also has a useful collection of online resources for farmers and gardeners in Southern California on their website: http://celosangeles.ucanr.edu

Stay tuned for the date and location (hint: it will be toward the end of October). Hope to see you there!

2. Go Eat a Bug
Urban agriculture is all about growing food from plants and animals, which we know, but an interesting new horizon in food is edible bugs! Bugible is helping Americans establish this sustainable food as a normal and delicious part of a human diet. They have a few events coming up including cooking classes in Culver City and a Bug & Wine pairing in West Hollywood, just in time for Halloween! Learn more about their upcoming events here: https://www.eatbugsevents.com/upcoming.html
