2 pm - 4 pm

at KINKA

55 West 19th Street, New York, NY 10011, USA

We are pleased to invite you to the fourth session of "The Floral Art of Tea Ceremony." On this occasion, we will learn about the formal style of chabana and the traditional New Year's “Musubi Yanagi,” which literally means "looped willow branches” decorated at the alcove area at Hatsugama, the first tea ceremony of the year.

Information RSVP/TICKETS is available on KINKA's website

Flower arrangement can be enjoyable with simplicity. We will learn about chabana 茶花, seasonal flower arrangement for the Japanese tea ceremony. In this class, we will discuss and demonstrate the chabana arrangement while learning about local seasonal flowers and how to use them. We will arrange with a bundle of wildflowers and create a simple arrangement of chabana. This class will help you to create your own chabana flower arrangement in a modern lifestyle. At the end of class, you will join the authentic Japanese tea ceremony and decorate your chabana at tokonoma 床の間, the alcove area, to appreciate it. The seasonal sweets will be served with a bowl of matcha.

Instructed by Professional Horticulturist & Floral artist EunYoung Sebazco, and Japanese Tea Ceremony master Souheki Mori
