Ages 6-8 & 9-11 Emotion Regulation Group, "Don't Flip Your Lid!"
Come January, we will be running two emotion regulation groups, one for ages 6-8 and other for ages 9-11. If your child struggles with big feelings, such as staying calm when frustrated or angry, this group may be right for them. The group includes 6 sessions for children and 2 sessions for caregivers/parents. See the attached poster below for more information, including how to register.
Grades 9-10 & 11-12 Perfectionism Group
We are also again offering a group for teens struggling with perfectionism. If your teen is hard on themselves when it comes to academics, sports, appearance, etc., and their achievement in these areas greatly impacts their self-esteem, they may be a good candidate for this group. Grades 7-9 & 10-12 DBT Skills Family Group
Beginning the first week of January, we are running two DBT Skills groups for teens and their caregivers (grades 7-9 and 10-12). These groups are 12 weeks long and require participation of both the youth as well as one primary caregiver. DBT skills have been shown to be effective for teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, intense emotions and mood swings, impulsive and disruptive behaviours, self-injurious and suicidal behaviours, and family and peer conflict.
