World Cancer Day | February 4 | Close the Care Gap

Today, on World Cancer Day, the Canadian Association for Population Therapeutics | Association Canadienne pour la Thérapeutiques des Populations is pleased to join our many members, partners, colleagues, and friends across Canada and around the globe in recognizing this important initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control.

This year, World Cancer Day is being acknowledged with special online events, social media activities, virtual meetings, much anticipated launches of exciting initiatives and innovative projects, new collaborations across cancer control, and so much more! The new three-year campaign for World Cancer Day focuses on addressing the barriers that prevent people from accessing the cancer care they need - this is the first year of the ‘Close the Care Gap’ campaign with a focus on generating greater understanding and awareness about the inequities that exist in cancer care around the globe.

The Union for International Control encourages citizens around the world to listen to the perspectives of those living with cancer and to allow those lived experiences to guide our respective and collective actions as we work steadfast toward a future where people live healthier lives and have better access to health and cancer services, no matter where they are born, grow, age, work or live.
